New Jersey Division of Revenue will only authenticates signatures on documents originating or issued in the state of New Jersey and meets the following criteria:

Notarized by a New Jersey Notary Public
Court documents must be Certified copies issued by a New Jersey Court
Signed by the State Treasurer
Signed by the State Registrar

How can I tell if my Birth Certificate is acceptable for an Apostille in New Jersey?

The Document of must be issued by the State of New Jersey (NJ) or
     from https://www.vitalchek.com.
It must have been issued & signed by the STATE REGISTRAR
The current State Registrar is Joseph A. Komosinski
So your Vital Record must be signed by Joseph A. Komosinski, Bureau of Vital Statistics

 Birth certificate signed by a Town Clerk, local registrar, etc it CAN NOT get an Apostille in NJ.

How long does it take?

Normal processing time for the New Jersey Division of Revenue is 15 business days.

Expedited service is available to speed up the Apostille process & for the return of your documents as quickly as possible 3 - 4 days

New Jersey Apostille Fees

On average it will take up to 7 business day once we receive your order and return it to you.  The cost for the first 2 Apostille documents is $175.00 each, additional Apostille documents are $100 each.    Expedited Service (Rush service) is available for an additional $120.00 for all document going to the same location.

All document are returned to you at no additional cost using USPS Priority Mail unless International mail or express mail is requested which is an additional cost.

New Jersey Embassy Legalization

Embassy Legalization is $300 for the first document. If additional document are going to the same Embassy they are  $225 each.
